Breakfast is the most important meal of the day (if the experts tell us) as fuel for our bodies after a long night and prepare for a day before responsible. However, it also has become a very expensive meal of the day! There are plenty of manufacturers out there that have been common breakfast items in a convenient, high sugar-fat, high and how expensive and confident that consumers who need your products and you can not live without them. I am here to tell you otherwise. I'll help you take a bite into the rising cost of breakfast.
Grain prices have soared in recent years, as we discussed Psy sizes also Box! If you and your family are really addicted to the cereal box is considered generic products. Cereals are not facing generic a striking family we have learned through advertising and therefore a much lower cost. I supply of cereals, then our local market IGA has a truck sale and I pay $ 1/large box. Corn flakes, oat rings and the type of crispy rice cereal operating normally from 3.99 to 4.99 for a brand name is mine for $ 1. Now you can get brand cereals, if and only if there is a murderer and Sales have a coupon to go with it. I never spend more than $ 1.25 for a cereal brand especially since my three children can destroy a box in two sessions. If I pay full price, equivalent to 2.00 $ 2.50 just for breakfast food only (excluding to milk). Generics are the way to go if you eat cereal.
A favorite cereal is granola is ours, but the bank bought varieties are expensive and contain many elements that can not or will not eat (allergies to nuts and three children in particular). I buy my grains in bulk and do mine. There are a lot of flexibility to make your own granola and not too long (for a lot when you're already thinking about starting your oven). The basic premise is a sweet tasting liquid that is poured over oatmeal and shake well and then gradually the oatmeal is kiln dried which allows the flavor to stay with oatmeal, cooked while the moisture away. After done, can add any type of dried fruit, nuts or seeds.
Basic Granola Recipe
6 cups rolled oats
2 cups flour wheat (helps create groups of granola)
1 cup wheat germ (I removed this before)
1 cup coconut
2 cups raisins (cranberries are good, too!)
¾ c. oil
½ c. Brown Sugar
½ c. molasses
½ c. water
1 clove TBS
Almonds, walnuts and sunflower seeds and can be added
Combine oats, flour, wheat germ and coconut. Mix well. Mix oil, sugar, molasses, water, vanilla and salt. Stir wet-dry or moisten everything. Spread on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 250F for 45 minutes, 1 hour stirring occasionally. Cook dry and brittle. Cool and stir in raisins, nuts or dried fruit. Store in an airtight container. Oh, and word of the wise, watch carefully to your granola in the oven to burn quickly! Please do not ask do not know.
Speaking of oatmeal, one of my friends have been in great form hot oatmeal quickly! This technique works well when you have different people in the house you want to oats in different ways. I mix 1 part traditional rolled oats (usually C ¼ to 1 / 3 c) 2 parts water in a microwave proof bowl. I add a little vanilla (which do not have this makes me want to eat oatmeal am greedy), one or two tablespoons of brown sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt and microwave for two minutes to go. I added nuts according preferences of each child and I'm sure I could throw in the seeds and nuts. It's quick and easy and much cheaper than buying boxes of instant oatmeal flavor.
Make breakfast items in the following sessions the kitchen and then freeze them (the first freeze on cookie sheets, and set in the storage containers, which do not freeze together in a block of sound that way). You may have to experiment on the best way to warm, but overall I think the microwave oven works very well (although a toaster oven is also likely to work well). By making these issues in advance can save serious time and money!

Muffins
breakfast burritos (scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, cheddar and salsa on burrito wraps instead of soft and then frozen in thawing, place in microwave for 30 seconds to 1 ½ minutes, depending on their microwave)
breakfast sandwiches (take with English muffins, bagels or crackers and filled with items like burritos and freeze, thawing in the same way)
Muffins (egg breakfast muffin, which has bacon or sausage, onions, peppers and cheese inside)
Pan-breakfast excellent ways to use the eggs, leftover ham, peppers, onions, potatoes and other objects in a pot that can be stored in the refrigerator and warm up quickly in the microwave.
Now with all that said, breakfast was not that consists of traditional breakfast items, either. There is no law which states that the eggs and bacon and cereals are only for breakfast and breakfast is just bacon, eggs and cereals. More than one student has fueled the morning with the remains of cold pizza! Breakfast may be cheaper that remains!
So take a bite of breakfast cost generic thinking, thinking and doing things in advance and think outside the cereal box traditional breakfast (cereal box), that is!
