Why the U.S. food imports from China?
It is common for Chinese garlic in the supermarket, and even citrus fruits! It has all the citrus groves in Florida turned into subdivisions and golf courses shit, so that the import oranges from China? Moreover, China has a terrible record of safety issues, ie, poisoned toothpaste, baby food, pet food, etc, and garlic grow everywhere!
Export of manpower and production where it is cheapest is one of the principles of capitalism. The reason we do not pull our production out of China after the security of the area of health problems is the WTO. The WTO has the power to force countries and international trade agreements to impose no restrictions on foreign companies and other absurd restrictions. The right of the matter is, our capitalist system has been corrupted and the WTO is just perpetuating the problem, and China is a large producer of many inferior products sold in the U.S. and around the world.
