Many children are counting the days left of school and many parents wonder how they will keep their children occupied for two months and half. After of structured, educational and safety activities can keep children engaged and very entertaining. Although children sent to day camps and camps for night can be expensive for the budgets of many families, there are many other fun filled activities to keep your mind occupied.
Keep a diary
Ask children to start a diary for the summer. You can record your daily activities or simply record your thoughts and feelings. This helps keep writing all summer.
Start a collection
Being a "receiver" of the growth. Ask your child to start a new collection during summer. Ideas for collections are: soda bottle caps, key chains, stones or shells only.
A neighborhood Olympics host
Gather the neighborhood kids around a morning of fun and laughter. Organize different games like 3-legged race or a jump rope competition. Enter as individuals or as a family. Replica medals to the winners.
Have the kids make dinner
Ask your children to the dinner menu, then take to the store and buy the ingredients, and help prepare dinner. This could be a great learning experience while teaching their children about the extent and do and doing in the kitchen.
Make a time capsule
Capture the moment! Ask your child to find a shoe box and they remind me of this summer. Includes photos, menus to see the prices, favorite toys, and letters in the future. Check "Do not open before 2015" in the box and decorate the outside.
Make collage
Ask your child to find different elements in their rooms, they represent themselves and paste objects on a tray Styrofoam meat is not used. McDonald's toys, colored rocks and other objects of interest would be a good idea to use. Have them write their insurance name in brightly colored markers, somewhere on the plateau.
Take a trip to China

Have a camping
Go camping in our own backyard! A tent, campfire storytelling, and even build a small fire, if possible. Do not forget the marshmallows, chocolate bars and biscuits. Invite friends in the neighborhood for added pleasure.
Join a library summer reading programs
Pittsburg Public Library has a program reading was just for kids. This is free of charge, and offer incentives for reading books. In addition, they offer a story time where children listen to stories and do crafts.
Go on a nature hike
There are many places where you can take your kids on a nature hike and do not travel very far! Wilderness Park Frontenac, Kansas has a beautiful nature trail that can be enjoyed by your family. For families who have a baby or small child would not be able to walk the entire trail, this is for you too. The track is very pleasant walk.
Go on a picnic
Picnics can be great fun for whole family. Choose a park that has a component or a lake would add much to do for children. Bring fishing poles and worms!
Visit the museum local
Visit the Historical Museum of Crawford County can be a very informative trip on the ground for children. Together a scavenger hunt and asked them to find various objects throughout the tour.
This is just the beginning of what you can do with their children during the summer. It is very important to keep learning during the summer. As we all know, learning can be fun!
